[AccessD] Importing Excel .csv to Access

I received several Excel files from a client for import, however, when I
attempt to open the file, the only visible areas are the border and
toolbars.  The desktop can be seen through the window.  I've found that if I
toggle the "Full Screen" option in the pull down menus on and then off, the
Excel display returns to normal.  Can anyone explain this behavior, and
offer a solution that will open the Excel window normally by default?
