[AccessD] Can I pack / compact dbf files with Access 97?

Hi there

I am trying to put the finishing touches on my new creation (In Access 97) 
and have set it up so that I have a custom splash screen. It works fine 
except it only displays for about 1/2 a second making it impossible to read.

Is there anyway to adjust the time the custom splash screen displays for?
