obviously it depends on who ISP is, but I would think that the email would
bounce back to John had it been a size limit issue from either John's or his
ISP's side... Good Ol' outlook, keepking John's life intresting... ;o)

: Sorry, misunderstood. I thought you were talking about replying to a
message that already had an attachment and keeping that attachment. I
agree, you should be able to attach a file to a reply. I do that all the
time as well. Could it be a file size issue? I know at work here they have
put a limitation on the size a file can be as an attachment, something less
than 1MB (not exactly sure what the size limit is). Can be annoying at
times.
:
: Could the recipient have size limitations on their end?

:
:
: I'm not talking about "keeping attachments". You send me any message. I
: reply, attaching a file. You don't get the file.
:
: Why should I have to create a brand new message in order to get the file
: that I attach to the message to stay put?
:
: The thing is, I always just reply to your message. Saves me having to get
: your address, create a brand new message etc.

:
:
: I have never seen Outlook keep attachments on a reply. If I have wanted
to
: keep attachments, I have had to use the forward option, which then you
have
: to reenter the to: line. Not the best way, but it has worked. If you
find
: the "magic" option switch for this, I would surely be interested in your
: findings.

:
:
: Well, the thin is I can send attachments as well. Just can't reply to an
: email and get them to go. I tested by building a brand new record to my
: wife and sent an email with attachments. She got it and the attachments.

: I have SR-1 for Office/Outlook and I can send attachments fine, I bet it's
: the newer draconian measures in SP3 that are blocking your

: : : I am my email admin. And it isn't getting out of my inbox in Outlook.
: : : I can see emails in the sent items folder that have attachments. I
: : : discovered this issue because I have Norton AV, and when an attachment
: : : goes out, a little yellow NAV box opens with a progress bar for the
: : : scan. I KNEW that I had seen that progress bar take 5 seconds or more
: : : for large (2mb) files. But I was replying to a client, trying to
attach
: : : a db and didn't see that progress bar.
