And MS is not known for having better products. MS is known for better
interaction between products and they are more user friendly.

Don't forget (in those days an some still are) unix, TBOS, PCMOS, MUMPS
and others OS's that where (or still) are fare more stable and superior
than Windows.

And again, don't misunderstand me, I'm pro Visual Studio .NET, I
develop in VS ASP.NET, but I just look at today's market and see that MS
is not making any (or enough) progress on the market for what concerns
C#. And the .NET FRAMEWORKS For what concerns VB or C++, I just see it
as an upgrade...
They are just to late on the market, and they have two choices. Let it
quietly die (like they usealy do with lost products) or push it in our
strouts and give it away for free for all developers + free training
sessions..(a technique they also used for I dont remember anymore
what).

Mark,

Having the better technology does not assure one of having a successful
product. The Apple Macintosh was far superior technology to anything
from WinTel in 1984 and for several years thereafter. But look where
that got Apple.

If you don't know how to market your product it's not going to do you
much good to have a better product than somebody that does know how to
market their product.

Microsoft has absolutely crushed the old saying "If you build a better
mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door".

...what was Netscape's share of the browser market before MS decided it
wanted a piece of the action? ...PHP will be no match if MS really
decides to push .net ...which it appears to have done ...every MSDN and
TechNet session covers Net along with 2003 now.
