Subject: [AccessD] Small Access97 Project Opportunity

  Dear AccessD Listers,

I have a small project for a non-U.S./non-Canadian Access97 coder. We are modifying an existing application so that it can be used by customers outside the U.S. and Canada. App interface will still be in English, but 'international' version will handle various currencies, address / phone formats, and non-U.S. date formatting.

I'm doing all mods except those required to handle dates properly in SQL. That is the part being sub-contracted in this project. The scope of this project involves reviewing all SQL and modifying any that deals with date values, in the manner that has often been discussed on this list:

  Format(dateValue, "mm\/dd\/yyyy")

All modifications of this type should then be tested to ensure proper functionality (primary reason I'm requesting someone outside US/Canada to work on this).

Here are some specs on this app:

Access97, FE/BE, distributed as Access97 runtime mde using Sagekey scripts. SQL needs to be reviewed throughout, including saved queries, modules, form/report control sources. The app contains these objects (though not all deal with dates):
  42 queries
  82 forms
  57 reports
  26 modules

The development mdb will be ready (meaning all non-SQL-related mods have been completed) for you on or before Oct. 24, and this project needs to be completed by Nov. 14. Project deliverables include the modified mdb (obviously), and a simple list of objects modified (example of list entries: "qryApptsList", "mdlSchedule.fctNextAppt", etc.)

If you want additional information about this application, you can find it at www.farriersoftware.com . You're also welcome to dowload a demo of the app from there (this requires filling out a form first - please put "AccessD" in the comments so we don't think you're a potential customer!)

Please email me direct at backroad at idir.net if you're interested or have any questions. Thank you!

  Best Regards,

  Julie Schwalm
