If the FE is local and autocompact is set on, the front end gets compacted
when you close the database. If the front end is shared, it gets compacted
when the last person leaves it, same as the back end.

I've been wondering . . .

In a configuration where the system is split FE and BE, and the FE also has
local tables that are used for temporarily holding data, how are the local
tables compacted? Particularly in Access XP when it's set to auto-compact?

I know that the BE is compacted when the last person exits.

Thanks!
