[AccessD] combo box Limit to List question

Here's what I've found with just a little testing:

Access automatically updates the Limit To List setting from No, the default,
to Yes if the bound column isn't the first column or if the bound column is
the first column, but you render it invisible. Not only must the bound
column be visible to the user, it must be the first column in the control.

Now, I might not have it exactly right as there may be more or less to it
all. But so far, that seems the gist of it. Now, when you consider all
that's going on, I can understand the limitation -- but it seems like one
that they'd have allowed for in some way.

Susan:

I'm just about to have this problem. Combo box with a PK of AssetID in the
invisible column(0) and the asset bar code in column(1) - visible. List is
limited to assets of a certain type but if the user enter a bar code of a
different type then I have to process it anyway. Bound column is AssetID.

I'll be following this thread and I'll let you know if I find a way around
it.
