[AccessD] Access 2000 creating MDE

hi everyone,

Does anybody know why when i create a MDE file in Access 2000, it only 
allows me to save the file with a one character filename, eg A.MDE. Even 
if i change it to a full name , it still save as one character file 
name. I have completely reinstall access 2000. I can only assume it 
maybe a problem with winXP which i am using.
