called B.F. Skinner invented a school of thought called behaviourism,
whose first tenet was the rejection of states of mind on the grounds
that they are externally unverifiable. In other words, you saying that
you are sad does not prove that you are sad, or more generally that
sadness exists, or even more generally that your mind exists.)
