Since it's so slow today, if anyone is into pain, there is a 30-day free
trial (warning! HUGE download) of FileMaker Pro 7 available from the
FileMaker website. Of all the versions so far, this comes the closest
to being relational in that you can create "relationships" between
mutliple tables rather than just linking two tables at a time and they
have switched from the file per table format that they used to use.
However, You can ONLY create relationships and indexes. You can't
create a primary or unique key but you can cascade updates and deletes
through any relationship! They are touting a huge maximum size of
terabytes, but that includes the equivalent of memo fields and ole
objects. There is no provision for a split FE-BE, but they allow you to
run it on the web.
