Paul, It's best to have the map _not_ visible, or at least locked from refreshing, when processing that much data. The graphics in MapPoint are spectacular, but they take a lot of resources. Also, allow MapPoint's own Import Wizard to do the work when possible. It will make the fastest routine you have look silly ... and the more data you feed it, the faster it goes! ---- Michael R.
