Hi Erwin:

Have you seen this article from MS?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/198432/EN-US/

<Microsoft>
Solution:
You need to give the IUSR_<machine_name> account permissions to launch
and access your OOP COM object using dcomcnfg by doing the following:
1. Launch DCOMCNFG by clicking the Start button, selecting Run, and
typing "Dcomcnfg" in the Run dialog box.
2. In the Default Security tab, click the "Edit Default" in the "Default
Access Permissions" frame. The Registry Value Permissions dialog box
appears.
3. Add the IUSR_<machine_name>account and the INTERACTIVE account to the
Registry Value Permissions dialog box, and click OK.
4. In the Default Security tab, click the Edit Default in the Default
Launch Permissions frame. The Registry Value Permissions dialog box
appears.
5. Add the IUSR_<machine_name> account to the Registry Value Permissions
dialog box0, and click OK.
</Microsoft>

Subject: [AccessD] Urgent help needed with
IISserver.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
Importance: High

I'm getting desperate over here.

Yesterday I installed this mont security fixes on my W2K server.
I also took the opportunity to install SQL SP4.

>From that reboot on, non of my database driven website no longer
functions.

For both "JET 4 MDB" and "SQL server" access I get an error on this
command where it always used to work before the updates.
failing command server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
Retunred error
Server object error 'ASP 0178 : 80070005'
Server.CreateObject Access Error
The call to Server.CreateObject failed while checking permissions.
Access is denied to this object.

I checked al my NTFS permissons according to the MSKB, but I believe
everything is ok.

Anyway, it worked for years before this update.

Is this a bug in the windows fiexes????
