Oops! Make that Visio (no N on the end). Blame the muscle relaxants
for back spasms, please. <g>

I used to design in Vision (before Microsoft took the forward
engineering out of the Pro version :-<) and in the pre-MS versions,
field names had to be unique. The exception was when you created a
relationships and it automatically inserted a foreign key into the child
table. That wasn't unique because it wasn't considered another field,
simply a pointer to another table. Anyhow, I got into the habit way
back.

Well, as long as a field name is unique...

Sorry to disappoint you, but I name my fields to indicate their table. I
just object to elaborate field naming schemes complete with underscores,
capitalized prefixes, etc., etc., etc. If that makes for an argument,
we're all hard up for diversions.

Sheesh JC.....you really must be losing it with old age.... <grin>

What kind of statement is that? Technically, no one could not use a
naming convention. <grin>

Precisely so let's start one.

Anyone who doesn't use a naming convention is a dolt.

Nope, just busy...and there hasn't been anything good to argue
about.......we normally just feed off what gets posted. It's not our
fault the other listers aren't posting juicy stuff to dig into!

Just checking to see if there is anyone out there or is AccessD down?

It's just too quite.
