[AccessD] Linking to a Dbase File

Hi:

Can simply linking to a Dbase table cause corruption on the dbase table?

All I need to do is query the table, no adds/updates or deletes. (I'll have
to join the table with a local Access table, that's all).

Anyone have any experience with this, or any tips? I can read the dbase file
using oledb, but then I can't join it to the local Access table.
