=====It's just one of many ways to allow users to customize their 
environment. You could use a table in the front end to store those settings, 
but you'd have to consider that when deploying a new version. I suppose it 
isn't a big deal to force all the users to reset those types of features if 
you have to deploy a new front end to everybody.
