[AccessD] Printer Preferences ...

Hi Larry

For such cases we have a workstation at the client with remote desktop access or LogMeIn Free installed (you can remotely via LogMeIn power up the computer via Wake-On-Lan) and a full version of Access installed.

A new version of the FE is opened and - from a list - we move through the modified reports not printing to a default printer with default settings, say reports for labels or invoices. Reports are checked and adjusted and saved. Finally the FE is copied to a distribution folder on a file server and then, later, manually or automatically copied to the users' workstations. Also a copy is pulled home for further development.

I've found no other reliable method.

Hi Folks:

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Have a project I'm maintaining remotely. They have several reports that need
to go to specific printers, with specific settings (specific trays, paper
sizes, etc.)

My initial thought was to use the Windows Printing API to do this, and it
works ... some of the time. (other times, it just doesn't work ... printers
aren't changed, or worse the user gets booted out of the application).

Given that I'm not developing on the same network environment, and don't
have the same printers, I'm wondering how others might have dealt with this
issue.

I'd like to be able to open a report on my machine without having to then go
back to the client and reset the printer settings for the report.

Using FE/BE architecture, Access 2007 sp2 on all computers.

Thanks in advance.
