[AccessD] Just cannot get this SQL syntax to work

Only thing is you were off by a single space, but yes, that is it!

To be on the safe side I am going to cover both bases:

SELECT *
FROM tblFilterList
WHERE (((InStr(Replace([Item]," ",""),"[MyField]="))>0));

DELETE FROM tblFilterList WHERE InStr([Item],"[MyField]=")>0
