...yes and no ...there are so many improvements in VS2008 and 2010 in the 
Express versions, over the VS2005 Standard version that unless I needed 
something not available in the later Express versions, I'd choose the 2010 
Express version over the 2005 Standard every time ...and the Standard 
version is not much more capable than the Express versions anyway ...I 
bought the 2008 Pro version as the lowest one that met all my foreseeable 
needs after starting with the 2008 Express version.
