No I don't didn't it might have worked but I tend to use the same string 
name in several forms and was concerned about which form set the variable 
wrong.

I've got several more apps to get ready for the 2010 upgrade by the same 
customer so I'll test it on the next one.

I'm curious: did you try placing the public variables in a MODULE instead of
the FORM ?
