There is a feature of Windows Server called Shadow copying which allows
copying of data while in use.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_Copy

Interesting subject. I take it the Backend ACCDB or MDB file cannot be
reliably backed-up during daytime hours when the database is being used,
correct ?
Can users be forced-off before the backup is performed ?
