These types of things are really hard to trace unless you can duplicate the
error. Assuming you're not using an mde or acccde front end file I'd select
a user you know and see if you can do a remote session with them using
Remote Desktop, Techinline, Team View, or your remoting app of choice and
step through the process to see where the error is generated.

My understanding is that they are consistently getting the error -- they
cannot use the procedure at all.

There is nothing different about the subject line.

I'm not getting the error on any of my computers. I would have to check
with the people who do get the error to see what their Outlook settings are.

There's no 3rd party software being used.

The only thing I've learned so far is that it may be a permissions issue on
their computers, but that may be difficult for me to verify.

  Thanks

    Carolyn,

Do the users receiving the errors receive them consistently or no? Do
  you
do anything different with the subject line when an attachment exists?

I think as a starting point I'd check for add-ins in Outlook and disable
them. Also since your using Outlook, are you using any 3rd party libs to
avoid the security prompts? If so, I'd check that your up to date with
  any
    changes.

    Jim.

    Access 2000 database, running in 2000/XP, 2007, 2010, 2013 on Win
    XP/Vista/7/8

I have a sub that saves a indivualized report as a pdf file, then creates
  an
email in Outlook (late binding) and attaches the report for that
  individual.
It's been working fine for years.

Over the past few months, I've been hearing from users that they are
  getting
an error from Outlook -- Method 'Subject' of object'_Mailterm' failed I
haven't been able to find anything on this error when I do a search, but
anecdotally from my users, it seems related to the attachment. Similar
code without the attachment apparently works OK.

I can't reproduce the error on my Win8 computer and am at a loss.

    TIA,
