[AccessD] are PowerApps destined to fly?

<< then it would be good for developers. It is not.>>

So was Access at one time<g>

Access itself was very limited in versions 1.0 and 1.1. Almost unusable.
It wasn't until 2.0 that it took off and even then, it wasn't full featured
until A97. I think in regards to PA's, you are seeing a rev 1.0 effort at
present. Microsoft is very fond of releasing things that are not fully
developed and seeing how they float.

The thing that appeals to me and leads me to believe it won't be another
flash in the pan is that Microsoft seems to be working with this across the
board. It's not part of Office, it doesn't compete with anything else they
currently have, and it appears to be a major focus for them.

But like I said, I am waiting to see rev 2.0 and I'm not holding my breath.
I got all excited about Access Web Apps and kept waiting for Rev 2.0 and it
taking off, but they ended up going now where.

I'm glad I didn't make a bet on that like some did.

Jim.

Horrible idea....only for power users.
If they had including a scripting language, then it would be good for
developers.
It is not.
