this sort of thing I now use a variety of Shell command, not to run Word, Excel
etc but Rundll so that you effectively invoke whatever app is associated with
the file type. Someone on the list gave it to me (sorry, can't give due credit
cos can't remember and code doesn't say). Anyway, it works a treat, opens app in
separate window, doesn't touch the Access app at all. You just put a call to it
on the Click or Double-Click (wherever you want) event behind the control. If
