[dba-SQLServer] InStr equivalent

SubString isn't the same as InStr.  InStr returns the position of the string
being searched for while SubString returns a string in a specific place.

Yes there is a SQL server equivalent called substring:

 substring(<colname>,<start>,<Length>)

Does SQL Server have a string function that's similar to Access's InStr() --
I haven't found one.
