[dba-SQLServer] OT SharePoint

Hi All:

This is going to seem OT but maybe not. I will ask a simple question... What
is the primary reason for SharePoint? What is it used for? Why would someone
use it as opposed to just creating a web page?

(No I am not writing an article on it just trying to figure out whether it
is worth installing.)
