Not sure I follow...

 

Both of these work:

 

Select syntax:


select * from openquery(TDATA, 'select * from test_tbls.testTable')


Insert Syntax:

insert openquery(tdata, 'select ship_to_phn from test_tbls.testTABLE')
select phone from ccms.dbo.tbltest;
