Regedit

HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\run
(Yes it is the windows key even when having NT/2K/XP)

You find a value MsnMsgr or msmmsgr or something depending on the
Messenger version you have (Windows or MSN mesenger)

Remove this or both keys.

Be carefull what you do in the registry = dangerous!!!

Subject: [dba-Tech] Windows messenger

Does anyone know how I can disable Windows (msn?) Messenger in Windows
XP Bloody thing is installed on a brand new pc, and loads at sratup and
I can't find it anywhere.

It's blocked by the firewall, but I'm more concerned with not loading
unnecessary programs, to save memory leaks...
