Hi Marty / John - it seems to also only be happening when cold - first hour of use for the day. OK - maybe time for replacement.

  Plasma and LCD monitors will do this if strong indirect lighting falls 
  on them. Generally if it falls from the side.
  Close curtains or tilt monitor to see if it disappears.
