What if you rip it with something like DVD Decryptor?  Maybe you can access
the audio files that way?

Interesting.  My wife has frequently taken cassette tapes and
converted them to CD using the tape deck's output into the sound card.
 Methinks that you'd have to do something like that since, clearly,
you can't make a digital copy.
