I totally agree! Utility programs should stay in the background and just
work.

I'm guessing Norton's marketing staff disagree with me though ;o)

Good to hear it - it's the way AV etc should be!

Sophos's system tray icon is discreetly animated during hourly updates.

That's also a good description CA's AV, although they do have an animated
icon in the system tray :o)
