If you terminate AVG altogether does the machine speed up again? If not,
then it's probably not AVG. I'm using Version 7.5.432.

Subject: [dba-Tech] The latest AVG anti-virus

Since downloading the latest version of AVG anti-virus, my system is
terminally slow. Is anyone else using it and have you noticed this? I turned
off the executable scan - I can turn it on if I need it - but I'm not sure
that's really helped.

I've also lost my CD-ROM drive - which we've already discussed, but I don't
think AVG was the culprit.

I've run all the spyware, adware scans - finding the normal stuff and
getting rid of it, but that doesn't improve performance like it use to.
