John,
IIRC, they say this 'destroy source data' is for cases where you want to 
replace the system drive. still, I would not do it.
just make an image of your system drive and extract it to the new drive, and 
here is where I had the problem.
there is a screen which lets you chose the drive from the image, which I 
took as 'chose the target' and did not dare to go on, since I did not want 
to copy it over the existing sysem.
