[dba-Tech] Laptop Overheating

I have always assumed that those batteries will go dead (like many
camera batteries) if not periodically recharged. I have 2 laptop
batteries that I swap out at least once every several months so that
they don't discharge all the way down. This is just an assumption on my
part, however.

The only thing that I have heard bad about doing this is that the
battery contacts could oxidize.

Given that 89% of the time, the laptop is running off direct juice
rather than battery, should I remove the battery save only those few
occasions when I need it? Will the power still work from the wire if the
battery is absent?

I think that in the year I've owned this machine, I actually depended on
its battery for about an hour.
