I read somewhere that when XP launched MS had a list of over 65K KNOWN bugs.
That has no doubt GROWN by now, since they only fix the worst of the worst.

Oh the joy, eh?
You should be able to download SP2 directly from MS and apply without the
previous patches. After SP2 you have (IIRC) 89 more! They shoul dhave SP3
out soon (I hope) which will save doing those 89 also.

That's what I finally did at 10 last night, a repair :(

I'm now on hour 5 of downloading and installing the updates :( 59 to get to
the point where I could download and install SP2. SP2 installed. Now 60 more
post SP2 and still going. <sheesh> Why couldn't they just make 1 big update
for folks like me.
