[dba-Tech] Some of the cool features with Windows7

That is what we will be trying to do in the next few years... de-cluttering
our lives. The kids have gone... (There have been threats to move back which
we have ignored.)

We simply have to get rid of 'great junk' unless we plan to open a museum
and move to a smaller house unless we plan to do a 'bed and breakfast'. 10
computers and servers are just too much!

A group of friends, at coffee last night, were discussing what to do with
the next 20 odd years and the consensus was maybe moving far south, getting
a satellite link and doing remote support and letting the young guys do the
on site hustling.

Jim

This coming from a guy who just described 47 different virtual machines on
one computer ;o)

I had to buy the Sony Bravia because my other Sony 36" inch gargantuan model
went out on me.

Absolutely, ask away. I do it because it makes my life easier and less
cluttered. I have replaced my entire stack of stereo and television
equipment with one unit. We live in a small house so that is a welcome
thing. I also have an add-on for the Bravia that allows for YouTube, Amazon
Streaming Video, CBS's television series library, Slacker radio and other
Internet type services to come directly in via its menu. Got it on eBay for
less than half the original price and it came with a $120 Amazon credit.
Brenda can now watch her grand nephew's latest baby video on the big screen.
Fun Stuff.

You are a real geek John...

I have not moved to a flat screen yet but plan to in a few years (Roof,
kitchen and second bathroom come first)... It definitely has its pluses. I
had a friend build a small board that allows my computers signals to display
on the old Tosiba... which is working perfectly and which makes it hard to
just move up.

I may have to ask you some technical questions in the future, if tht is
alright.
