[dba-Tech] Free security software from Microsoft

Isn't there some kind of moral reason for them to NOT require genuine MS
Windows? By denying it to people who have pirated copies, it stops them from
cleaning up their computers, and allows them to continue to try to infect
ours. Why should I suffer because someone can't install MS security tools?

Also note that the product requires "genuine MS Windows", which may seem
logical and reasonable, but what other MS products might be required later,
or might require to be updated, or might be required to run as MS deems
appropriate.
