MS is abandoning one of the few things that keep people tied to them.

Oh, yes Ubuntu 10 (Lucid Lynx by name) is not ready for prime-time but very
soon... still at the Alpha stage but you can test it and see if you like it
without even having to install it. You can just run it from a CD/DVD, 32 and
64 bit and Desktop and Server versions are available:
