I must admit my only use of TV, other than a good ten plus years ago, has
been through various JavaScript web implementations

First I've heard of it being depreciated. Nothing here about that:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.controls.treeview.asp
x

<quote>.NET Framework
Supported in: 4.5, 4, 3.5, 3.0
.NET Framework Client Profile
Supported in: 4, 3.5 SP1

Platforms
Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server
2008
(Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2
</quote>

And Jim, even if it were not represented in .Net, that certainly doesn't
mean it is a "dead
interface". It's still a standard "common control" and accessible through
the Windows API for
developers using development environments other than .Net such as . C/C++.
( and
PowerBasic <g>)
