I think that Susan has about 4 books out already and covered almost everything. However, there is at least one niche that she has not yet covered, and I may choose to step into that niche. I'm not going to spill the beans on the niche I have identified, lest she beat me to the punch, but in the meantime I will solidly recommend her books. She knows the product inside out. Alpha is not inexpensive, but compared to alleged compeitors, I see nothing that even comes close. Write once, deploy o the web, to tablets, and to smart phones. No other competitor can deliver this, AFIK. Alpha Anywhere has my unmitigated support and allegiance. I think that these folks have delivered the premium multi-platform development environment currently available. In fact I would go so far as to say that they have raised the bar and that to compete in this market you must surpass Alpha Anywhere or die. This software is that good. It's almost sickening how great this software is. If you are into VBA, the programming language is way more powerful. to the point where it makes VBA seem a kiddie language. Yup, I'm totally sold on Alpha Anywhere. I began using it as a member of the beta team, and have already deployed a relatively simple app for use by an NPO in 23 cities. The users can run it on whatever platform they prefer. The app is not complex, but has about 25k users spread across 23 cities. I wrote this app for $0 dollars because I believe in what this NGO is trying to provide, and because I wish to give back. I couldn't have delivered this in fewer hours on any other platform than Alpha Anywhere. I aan old-timer, but I have to say that in all my years, I have never encountered a more powerful or intuitive IDE than Alpha Anywhere. I own no shares in this company, and unfortunately, am being rewarded by my endorsements neiither with free trips to Nassau nor a collection of hookers nor cash in the pocket; I state that my endorsement of Alpha Anywhere comes with no strings attached. I deem this the best possible multi-platformm development thing currently available, and further deem that it will take the other players at least a year or two to catch up to the fast-moving Alpha team. Richard and Selwyn clearly know a couple of things that their competitors do not know: a) how to build a team of developers; b) how to architect a "Best in Class" environment. In the past couple of weeks I have translated a couple of Access+SQl apps to Alpha Anywhre, and these were non-trivial. I did thentse as learning exercises, then showed them to the clients of interest. Of particular interest in both cases was the deployment tablet, in the first case a factory safety inspection app and in the latter case, a riding-stable app. In both cases, the translation from Access to Alpha Anywhere took a couple of hours per app. I feel good!
