I'm just thinking how much longer it would take to run through 500MB of data being transferred from an SD card or a USB drive, than doing the same thing in RAM. Or even swapping that 500MB of data into ram before iterating through it. Is the SD card going to be any better than 2GB of HD space masquerading as RAM? According to one review that I saw, the Dell 3100 has a built in Card Reader, so you could stick a SD Card in it for Ready Boost.
