If we needed this lesson, we needed it as lemmings.

Upgrading two boxes from XP to Win7, I found thart Win7 offered no 
features I needed, but several features I needed to defeat in order to 
be able to use the OS at all. Setting up Win8 on my wife's new laptop, I 
had the same experience, only worse.

M$oft's "upgrade cycle" is mostly a euphemism for endless hype and 
endless bugs masquerading as endless improvements.
