Hi Hans:

My thoughts is what ever works. I care little with whether choice was out of fear or benevolence.

It seems that Microsoft is the biggest bastion of proprietary software and one of its strongest proponents. It is good to see a change of faith even if it is only a little, tentative and a bit late. Every positive move should be encouraged.

Now there is Apple. ;-)

I wouldn't call it opening up to open source, but rather desperation to gain more adoption.
