[dba-Tech] Cheap SSL certificate

Hi all



I had to have an official SSL certificate for our Remote Web Access server running on Windows Server 2012 R2 to avoid the scaring red URL bar when the user opens the web page.



These are normally charged at "enterprise" prices, so I had to browse a little. But it paid off; at Enom I found RapidSSL at a flat rate of only USD 20 per year:

I was a bit sceptic as this is about 1/10 of the price at most other suppliers but hey, at 20 bucks for a GeoTrust certificate it was worth the trying even though this product is not listed on GeoTrust's own site. It may be some kind of white-label discount product.



However, it worked and the process is really rapid. Pay with your credit card, a few mails back and forth to confirm that you are you and the URL is real, and the certificate arrives minutes later in your mailbox ready for a copy and paste.
