[dba-Tech] Microsoft Flow

Hi Gustav:

I must admit I was a little surprised when hearing about the web app FLOW. I like to think I have a good knowledge of what's coming down the pipeline but in this, not the case... Until I hear something from a third party developer, I will wait.

Changing the subject slightly to distributive functionality; the latest connectivity "software-hardware" applications that I have been looking at recently is the "bot" apps that are coming out. It seems to be the latest trend. I wonder if FLOW is built on top of this technology?

On github is the latest Microsoft bot-builder. Its potential is very impressive: https://github.com/Microsoft/BotBuilder/ and https://dev.botframework.com/ (F# is starting to be discussed as well...(as functional programming) to that end I have downloaded a copy and hope to play with it in the evenings.)

There is another very popular "bot" framework and device management web application that you might find interesting, a incredible diverse software-hardware cloud based maker bot: https://gobot.io/ It is built on top of the GO language: https://golang.org/

Have you done any work in this new tech?

Jim

Hi all

Microsoft has silently launched in preview a new and free service: Flow

    http://flow.microsoft.com/

It can automate actions between many on-line services including quite a few non-MS services.
Looks interesting. Wonder if I can find some time to play with it.
