Hi All:

Here is a new High-End Computer file system called Orange FS

A lot of the functionality that has been distributed among a number of products has now been consolidated into a single file system targeted toward huge networks where storage and operations must be parallel able to process.

Quote:
"...a scale-out network file system designed for use on high end computing (HEC) systems that provides very high performance access to multi-server based disk storage, in parallel. The OrangeFS server and client are user-level codes, making it very easy to install and manage. It has Optimized MPI-IO support for parallel and distributed applications and is leveraged in production installations and used as a research platform for distributed and parallel storage."

It works with both Linux and Windows (as a client 32/64 using WebDAV). The server is Linux based and is built into the latest version of Linux 4.5 and should be coming to a distro near you within a few months.

Jim
