Well well, as any other old boy (m/f) in this business, I remember PC Magazine (a bible for me those days) and, indeed, Charles Petzold.
But he is still active. For example, take this "brick" edition (1200 pages) on a hot topic:

BTW, good news is that Xamarin uses XAML for UI design (as well as Universal Windows Applications) - quite similar to Silverlight and WPF

I noticed that the Windows Phone used is Lumia 925 which I have. However, it is not on the official list for a Windows 10 upgrade. Strange.

Hi Gustav:

I would think all the Windows phones should be in the list but Xamarin is a relatively new entry in their stable of applications and they may not have all Windows products currently supported. But if this is the case it will not be too long.

I have noticed the only time Microsoft does not support one of their products is when they want their users to migrate to their latest offerings. ;-)
