Well you must have been wishing me luck at the right moment, because I just turned the 'server' on. Still smells smokey, but so far I'm to the second 'boot' screen (Windows 2000 Server Family).....still going........No unusual noises so far.........I'm literally typing this while watching it boot! 'Windows is Starting up'....DEFINITELY a good sign!. 'Preparing Network connections' (which don't exist...but's it's looking....) Yeah, a desktop...okay, I'm happy....
