If you use a laptop, have you tried actually creating a database from source safe to your laptop? If you can connect through the network with the laptop, you should be able to create a project there directly rather than copying it from anywhere. You will need to be sure the objects you want to change are checked out before you remove the laptop from the network. Thanks for the reply Charlotte. I have not been able to get satisfactory results doing it the ways that I have tried it. I wonder if I put in SS at home and then copy the SS working directory back and forth... I don't know of any way to do that. When you copy a sourcesafe project, that is move it from the location it was originally created in, then the sourcesafe features are disabled and you have a sort of normal database. I don't think bringing it back and copying it back to the original location will get it back in action, but I have to admit I've never tried the latter. Hi, What is the preferred way (if any) of working on a database at home that is under SourceSafe at work? I am talking about taking a copy of the database(s) home and working on it, then bringing it back to work and updating what you have at work?
