I use http://www.no-ip.com/ to avoid static IP hassle/charges/etc. Works like a charm. That only works if you have an IP Address already. It's easy to get the IP Address of your system. Just go to a command prompt and type ipconfig (for NT systems...for 9x, you use winipcfg). I use static IP Addresses though, which means they aren't assigned by the ISP automatically, I have to manually put them into my NIC settings. That is what I needed to contact tech support on....because I hadn't received my assigned numbers. (Thus had NO connection to the internet). Drew, when you google for the keywords what is my ip you get many hits on the internet that will return your TRUE IP address here is a sample link... http://www.my-ip-address.com/ I hate waiting on the phone, let alone an hour and a half for an IP address... -Francisco http://rcm.netfirms.com On Thursday, April 24, 2003 10:53 PM [GMT-8], Drew Wutka <DWUTKA at marlow.com> wrote: <snip> : this morning I spent an hour and a half : trying to get my new IP Addresses out of their tech support.
