[AccessD] Please keep your fingers crossed!

If you use IP security on your IIS server, then a URL doesn't work. (Of
course that's not 'programatic'.)

I use DynDNS for a few things such as FTP, VNC, I can even use it in code
with the Inet.dll api...when would a URL not work in code and why would you
not want it to resolve?

: That would only work if I wanted a static IP just to host my website.
: I also use my IP at work, hard coded into several things, so that I

:
: That only works if you have an IP Address already. It's easy to get
: the IP Address of your system. Just go to a command prompt and type
: ipconfig (for NT systems...for 9x, you use winipcfg). I use static
: IP Addresses though, which means they aren't assigned by the ISP
: automatically, I have to manually put them into my NIC settings.
: That is what I needed to contact tech support on....because I hadn't
: received my assigned numbers. (Thus had NO connection to the
: internet).

: Drew,
: when you google for the keywords
: what is my ip
: you get many hits on the internet that will return your TRUE IP
: address here is a sample link...

:
: I hate waiting on the phone, let alone an hour and a half for an IP
